Part Time Children Services Trainers - 2 Positions Available!!

The YMCA of Brisbane is one of Brisbane’s most recognisable community organisations. Y-Care South East Queensland is the benevolent arm of the business which focuses on a range of services which include food for the homelessless, school breakfast programs, a range of youth services and benevolence, mentoring and affordable housing. We now have two exciting opportunities for Children Services Trainers to join our team, to be based between Acacia Ridge and Kingston.

The Opportunity

The Children Services Trainers will join an already established team of three Trainers and will conduct the training and assessment for students enrolled in the Certificate III in Children’s Services. The role will focus on delivering classroom based learning to culturally diverse, unemployed and persons re-entering the workforce. The positions will be for a contract period of initially 18 weeks with the possibility of extension. Hours will be part time for 30 hours per week covering the days Tuesday to Friday.

The Persons

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have at least five years relevant industry experience;
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;
  • Hold a current Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or the ability to obtain same;
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

The role will involve the successful candidates working largely autonomously with the support of a knowledgeable and experienced Coordinator. To this effect it is essential that the persons are highly motivated, organised and adept at effectively managing their time along with the ability to communicate at a very high level. The successful candidates will be passionate about delivering superior training and focused on ensuring the best outcomes.

OSHC Coordinator - Part-Time

The YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services offer Before School, After School and Vacation Care for children attending primary school, including the Preparatory year. In order to continue providing such excellent services, we are seeking a responsible, enthusiastic, reliable and friendly Coordinator for our Canungra service. This position is part-time at 25 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

As a YMCA OSHC Coordinator you will:

  • Develop quality programs
  • Manage the day to day running of the programs
  • Support and manage staff
  • Ensure compliance with policy
  • Undertake administrative requirements and
  • Work collaboratively with families and the school community.

To be successful in this exciting opportunity you will need to have or be willing to obtain:

  • Relevant qualifications (preferably in Teaching or Childcare)
  • Experience in the care and education of children
  • Excellent customer service
  • Sound computer skills
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card)
